(More customer reviews)I am not a car detailing fanatic, and I would normally go through the automatic car wash at the gas station even though I have always been troubled by the incredible waste of water. But I bought a new black car and I knew it would take more work to keep it clean, especially in the winter. I found this product on an internet discussion board, and bought it here through amazon/palm beach motoring/autogeek. This stuff is awesome!
Just two capfuls of Optimum No Rinse, plus 1 bucket of water and some microfiber towels and my car is CLEAN. Amazingly clean. No rinsing. No hose or anything. The dirt bonds to the liquid somehow and after soaking the microfiber towel in the "soapy" bucket and cleaning off the dirt, you just wipe your car dry. I know it makes no sense whatsoever to NOT rinse off your car, but it really works. No scratches or swirls or anything. Now I can clean my car in the garage, even in the winter - without wasting water! It was really cold outside, so my hands were frozen by the time I was finished, so next time I am going to use a pair of really long rubber gloves. (And after cleaning I did follow with an application of Klasse All in One - a non-wax protectant, which is also new to me and I would also recommend).
This product would be a perfect gift for earth-friendly or car-loving types.

Best bet is to get the stain immediately with this stuff. Set in or old marks are beyond helping IMO

I wasn't expecting this product to remove them completely, and it didn't; but it eliminated the fine scratches and greatly improved the appearance of the really deep scratches. It can't perform miracles but it will work on scrapes and shallow scratches.

This did well for that, but after I used it, thought I was done and put it away I noticed that it did streak. It took using it a couple times to get it right, but now my windshield looks great. I think the problem is that it's hard to get firm pressure on the entire "triangle" cleaning pad.

(More customer reviews)I have a white 2007 Acura TL Type-S with a 3M clear bra. I was in-between moves for a few months over the winter, and didn't have any of my detailing equipment with me at the time.
When we finally got settled, the clear bra was a nice shade of brown compared to the bright white of the paint. I tried most everything I had in my garage to get it cleaned off, but it wouldn't come off. Klasse All-In-One did the best of everything I tried, but even then, it still wasn't clean.
I did a search for what people have been using to clean these, and a few people recommended this product. I ordered it figuring it might work okay, but wasn't expecting much for the $7 it costs.
I taped off the seams of the clear bra so I wouldn't get the Plastx on the paint. Then, I put the Plastx on an orange pad and used my Porter Cable to buff it along the clear bra. It was unreal how quickly this stuff took out the dirt on the bra. I did 1/2 of the bra, and immediately grabbed everyone in the vicinity (wife, neighbors, etc) to come look at the amazing new look of my car. Everyone was impressed.
Last night, I used it on the headlights of a neighbors 1998 Honda Civic. They were almost opaque from years of being out in the sun and on the road. I taped off the paint surrounding each light, and spent ~3 minutes on one light. Stepped back to look at the difference between the two, and it was amazing. Just then, my neighbor stepped into the garage and was blown away at how much "newer" the headlight looked compared to the other one.
This is really great stuff, and it worked excellent on the two items I've used it on so far. I'll definitely be recommending it to everyone I know, as well as buying another bottle once mine runs out.

Novus 8 oz Polish Kit, Plastic Cleaner, Polish & Scratch Remover Review

(More customer reviews)My husband originally purchased Novus no. 1 a couple of years for automotive use, but he also tried it on his polycarbonate eyeglass lenses, and we have been very impressed with it as a lens cleaner. It buffs out fine scratches, so the lenses are easier to see out of, and it maintains them well. It even cleared up lenses with multiple scratches. We ran out of novus no. 1 and for a few months I had been using other things to clean my glasses. We recently ordered this kit with Novus no.1, Novus no. 2, and Novus no. 3. My husband first used number two and three on some scratches in a car door and he thought they really helped with it.

I used them on my eyeglasses.
I have a vintage pair of semi-translucent cat eye frames (complete with rhinestones) from the fifties that I purchased used about two years ago. After daily use, these frames had started to look pretty dull. I was especially disappointed with the bridge-- it had a sort of filmy appearance. After cleaning my frames and lenses, I tried a bit of No. 2 on a small spot and I thought it helped. I used it all over my frames, but I wanted some more improvement, so I tested and then used No. 3. Wow! After thoroughly and carefully applying no.3 all over and polishing my frames with it, they were really looking remarkably better. After using no.3, I carefully polished them with no.2 a few times. I then cleaned them with no.1.
I was amazed because these glasses now look better than they did when I first purchased them. The plastic has been restored and the filmy appearance is entirely gone. More impressively, after polishing and cleaning, I can now see details I never saw before, like the brand name on the inside of one arm, and the size of the frame. The area around the rhinestones is also remarkably cleaned and the lenses are very clear. I never expected this level of improvement without paying for professional cleaning.
As an aside, I'm also pleased by with bottle design. I dropped the Novus no.1 while I was using it and the spray top broke off. I'm clumsy and I've broken plenty of spray tops on things, and sometimes that means I can't use the product anymore. With these bottles that isn't a concern because I can just unscrew the top and transfer the contents to another sprayer and then recycle the bottle. I play on trying this system on other accessories and appliances.

I made the mistake of applying the whole car (in the shade when the outside temp was 80 degrees) then trying to wipe off. I almost had to take it to a detailer to have it removed. This also left streaks and cloudness in my paint.

I also noted that my can of this product has a recycle label for being recyclable steel. Furthermore, I noticed that my can says this product is made in America, which I really like.
