I made the mistake of applying the whole car (in the shade when the outside temp was 80 degrees) then trying to wipe off. I almost had to take it to a detailer to have it removed. This also left streaks and cloudness in my paint.

(More customer reviews)I have been taking care of cars for over 40 years and this is my favorite wax. It is not as much work to apply as you might expect from a paste wax, and it is forgiving of being allowed to get very dry before buffing. It shines well and lasts a long time.
It is NOT, however, a polish. If you have oxidized paint, this will make it look worse, because it just improves your view of the cloudy oxidized surface. If your paint is oxidized, you need to use clay to polish off the oxidation before applying this wax.

Although the containers seem small at first, each of the 3 products in the kit go a long way. I once had a professional detailer tell me that it was only necessary to apply liquid glass once a year. I probably will do it a bit more often. Never the less, Liquid Glass seems to hold up longer than other waxes I've tried.

(More customer reviews)I've been watching my the lenses on my 2002 PT Cruiser become more yellow and hazed over each year. Not only do they look terrible but at night, they don't shed as much light as they used to. The price to replace them is about $125. I purchased my 3M Lens Renewal Kit from Autozone and paid $25 + Tax. A local body shop said they'd do it for $71 for both lenses. I decided to take on the project and do it myself. The directions are good and easy to follow; there is even an online "how to" video.
I am very impressed with the outcome! I only wish I could post some before and after pictures but this review only allows for video. Everything's included in the kit except a drill. The sandpaper grades are extremely fine. You will work your way to the extra fine and finally buffing and polishing compound. To do both headlights will take a couple hours and you will end up with a brighter outlook on night driving and a happier face on your ride.

It has provided great service for 178k miles, but like most other plastic parts that Honda designed in this vehicle, the headlight lenses were of poor quality, and yellowed/hazed up at a relatively early age. Using the two step system of 3M #39010 and #39017, cleaner first, then polish, we have gotten REMARKABLE results. The low beam lenses are clear, as there are projectors beneath. it used to be that you could not see the projector lens behind the plastic headlight lens, due to the hazing and yellowing of said headlight lens. Now, after spending $20 and 20 minutes, the lenses look clear, practically brand new. Light transmittance has increased greatly as well. Im really suprised at how well it has worked, expecially after having used wet sanding type products on headlight lenses in the past.

3M Headlight Lens Restoration System Review

(More customer reviews)I own an 11 year old car and the headlights had become significantly glazed over. The only thing the drill doesnt come with is a drill. (which would really drive up the cost of the kit) The steps are pretty easy to restore your headlight
1. Clean the headlight and tape around the headlight edgeds to protect the paint job.
2. Use the "yellow" sanding disk with the drill attachment. The headlight will take on a more cloudy, but uniform, appearance
3. Use the "white" disk and smooth out the surface
4. Use the "gray" disk (with water) and begin the polishing of the surface
5. Finally use the "orange" foam disk with the polishing compound and complete the job.
Instructions are included with the kit and are pretty straightforward. I would say that anyone can do this job in approximately 2 hours or less. The drill attachment is WELL worth the money.
I was actually able to do two cars with one kit. Obviously this will depend on the condition of your headlights. I would recommend buying one kit per car though.
When using the kit I actually wiped off the "dust" that was created between steps. This wasnt mentioned in the instructions but I dont feel that it effected the results either. If you do the same thing then you will not see much of the "white slurry" described in the instructions when using the gray disk.
I hope this review helps and I will try to check back later to see if anyone has some comments that need answering.
