Griot's Garage 11097 Spray-On Wax - 1 Gallon Review

(More customer reviews)On the plus side, this comes in nice packaging (doesn't include the sprayer) and smells nice.
Unfortunately, it is carnauba-based and doesn't last at all. Think maybe one or two car washes or a month max. Of course, there are some paste/liquid carnauba waxes that only last a month, but there are some that will last several months. My point is that there are better polymer-based spray-on or quick-detailer products out there.
This cannot take the place of a proper wax, but it is convenient in that you can spray it on while drying your car and add a little bit of protection until you can use a proper wax.
As far as spray on products, there are better products out there if time is what you're trying to save. These include a range of products from Ultima Paint Guard Plus (a wipe-on walk-away paint sealant) to Finish Kare #425 (a spray-on/quick-detailer).
In the end, it is OK, but then I knock off a star because it has a pretty bad tendency to streak which takes extra effort and towels to buff off.

Spray-on wax, is just that. It is meant to get you from wash to wash with added protectant. Think of it as a base wax enhancer. When used on a regular basis after each wash, you will be able to extend the life of your natural waxes and paint sealants. Apply it right after you've washed and rinsed your car. Just spray on and wipe off as you're towel drying your car. Even if you didn't get all the dirt off every single area, it has enough lubricants to clean those areas up with your towel and leave behind a deep gloss. Speed Shine should still be used between washes, but spray-on wax should be used after each wash.

(More customer reviews)I used this wax for the first wax job on my brand new '07 Acura because I read in the auto detailing forums that this stuff is really good for new cars. A spray wax seems a little cheesey for an old schooler like myself, but what the heck I gave it a try. This wax returned my car back to its original luster as it was the day I brought it. I recommend this product because it did what a car wax supposed to do, protect & shine.
Now, I'm curious too see how long it lasts.... If it lasts less than 3 months I will probably update my review....

For this reason, I have tried a lot of products over the years to both protect auto finishes and give myself a quick option for putting the finishing touch on my car detailing. This is the best stuff I have ever used!! You can use it on paint, chrome, and even on the plastic surfaces of your vehicle and and the results are astounding! You will get a showroom like finish and UV protection as an added benefit. I even use it to detail my fiberglass boat and it is really impressive in this chore as well. (More customer reviews)I dislike writing reviews, however, they are helpful to me, so here goes! Hang with me - I bought this detail spray along with the pink spray put out by the Chemical Guys. In my opinion, this spray is amazing! First, I tried it on my El Camino which has a clear coat finish and it worked very well. So well that I was surprised. Next I tried it on my black Nova. If you have a black car, you know how difficult they are to keep clean. I was thrilled by the way this detail spray worked on my Nova. Very shiny! We drove the car on the freeway and through town - usually we pick up tons of dust, not this time! This probably sounds strange, but there was such a little coating of dust, I couldn't believe my eyes. We live in the country surrounded by fields and the dust is a fact of life here. When we arrived home with the Nova, I looked at the El Camino and there was very little dust on it, and the car had been parked under a tree for hours with the wind blowing. Luck or the spray? I'm hoping its this detail spray! I also have a '53 Chevy pickup and its painted with hot rod black suede. I used the pink spray on the pickup because I had read online that you should not wax black suede. That is up for debate, I suppose. The pink spray worked really well on the black suede. My husband is extremely picky about our cars and he seemed to be pleased with both sprays. I give them two thumbs up!!

I use this wax all the time IN BETWEEN my regular waxes with a professional Carnauba wax. I find it easy to apply and remove with little effort on my part however, (And you knew there HAD to be a down side) if you are looking for a long lasting shine, as Vinnie would say, "Forget about it"! All it takes is a good rainstorm and this wax is finito! If you want a fast shine with little effort then go for it, but if you want, a long lasting shine then you are still going to have to go the rout of a good quality Carnauba paste wax.
How's that for a smooooooooth review?! (LOL)

(More customer reviews)First of all, I like waxing my car as my as I like doing brain surgery on myself with a rusty screwdriver. So when I'm dragged kicking and screaming to clean all the cars, I don't want to revisit the experience. I'm old. Turtle wax paste has always did what it says it does, period. The best bang for your buck still. I'm no car detailer, I'm sure there are allot of other products that do the same, or better, that's fine. I only pay a few dollars for it, so that's a plus. It also works great on bathtubs and sinks, you don't have to clean the soap scum off, it doesn't stick to wax. Buff out the old bathroom mirror with it, won't fog after a shower. Peace out.

Did a good job of cleaning a very dirty Honda Civic. Left the car clean and shinny. So shinny, my teenage niece noticed it and commented on how shinny the car looked! It had a good coat of wax underneath, but this stuff cleaned well and left the car nice and shinny!

(More customer reviews)I'm not the kind of person who wants to spend my entire day cleaning my car. I used to use paste-waxes or liquid synthetic waxes, which took a long time to apply and remove and left white-residue on the trim peices and in crevices.
So, this wax has been a great time-saver for me. I wash the car, then dry it, and then apply this spray-wax. It leaves a nice shine, and a very slippery finish, and I don't have to worry about the trim-peices because it does not leave any white residue on the black trim. In fact, I don't have to make any effort to avoid the black trim when I use this product. It's good at making the water bead-up when it rains. It does not seem to fill-in fine swirl-marks, though.
Helpfull hint: you don't need to "saturate" the car with this stuff. don't spray too much of this on the car, that makes it streak and leave a cloudy finish. Only spray once per section and use a cloth to spread it around. For example, I spray just one full squirt for the entire door section; for the hood I use only two sprays. Wipe with a clean terry-cloth to spread it around, then turn the cloth over to a dry side (or get a new cloth) to wipe it dry until the cloth slides over the car with no resistance.
