(More customer reviews)This product worked much better than I ever expected, even though it was recommended to me by a friend. I have a classic 68 Chevelle (& 2005 pickup) that I consider my baby. I am very picky when it comes to the brand of cleaners and protectors that I use on it so I was skeptical about it even though it came recommended. I first used it on my truck and was very surprised about how easy it was to apply and even more so about how easy it was to remove. Still not confident enough to use on my baby, I figure I'll give it a couple weeks to see how it holds up on my truck and to make 100% sure I figure I'll try it on my sons car which is an older car with oxidized faded paint. I first used the deoxidiser/cleaner on the car and almost fell over how much better and shinier the red paint looked and that was before the protectant was even applied. I think I'll have to send the boy a bill for the new looking paint his car now has. Well this convinced me and I have been protecting my car with Diamond Shield for a couple years now and would not even think about using anything else. Also, even though it wouldn't matter to me cuz I love detailing my vehicles (a weirdo, I know) the protection lasts longer then any other product I've used in the past 25+ years.

(More customer reviews)I just used this today on a whim, and it really impressed. It's similar to rubbing compound, but much safer to use, as it contains much milder abrasives. My car had some bird droppings that marred the paint. I used about five products trying to remove them, with no luck. I didn't think this would work either but after a few applications and some elbow grease they came out. I don't think it's meant to be used as a wax per se, but everyone should keep some of this handy.

Novus 1, 2, 3 Kit Plastic Polish and Scratch Remover Review

(More customer reviews)I have a 2002 Nissan Altima and the headlights were starting to look foggy, so I did a quick google search and it led me to this product. Not much info was given about it, so I opted for the one with the 'cloth' and the bigger 8 oz. bottles. This product worked perfect, I just paid for more than I needed. Let me explain...
First off the 'cloth' is a glorified paper towel. DO NOT let that be a factor in your decision! I thought it would be a nice polishing cloth, sandpaper, or something worth while, but no... It's just a paper towel. If you find a cheaper option without it, go for it!
Second, the #3 bottle was useless. It is meant to take out 'bigger' scratches, but it didn't work for me. I used the three step process "as is" and saw no difference at all. What made the difference was sanding. I would not purchase the #3 bottle again.
I read that a good technique for sanding is to use 800, 1000, then 1500 grain sandpaper to prepare my headlights for this product. I also read it takes over 2 hours! Another opinion was that all you need to do is use 2000 grain sandpaper and that would save you time. I went that route. I had a little trouble finding the sandpaper as my local hardware store didn't carry it, but wally world had it in the auto section for about $3.
If you have deep scratches or any imperfections you can feel by touch I recommend getting a lower grain sandpaper to buff that out, then wet sanding (sanding with water) with either the 1500 or 2000. This will save you some time, but you could just use the higher grain sandpaper, it will just take longer.
After sanding your headlights, or whatever plastic you are working on, should have an even haze throughout. If you can still see the imperfections in the haze, repeat the sanding process until they are gone.
This is where the Bottle #2 comes in and works great! This is intended for small scratches, and will fill all the ones you just created by sanding perfectly. Apply this with a paper towel like you are applying wax to a car, then let it sit for a few minutes. There were no instructions on what to do with all this gunk #2 leaves behind, so I used the #1 bottle to wash it off.
When I cleaned it off I was left with crystal clear plastic! It was AMAZING! I could still see a few imperfections, but they were only left behind because I didn't sand deep enough to get them out.

- #1 bottle could easily be replaced by windex or any other plastic friendly cleaner of your choice.
- 8 oz. was way too much for me
This product did exactly what I wanted it to do! My headlights look clear as crystal! I hope this review helps other people to pick what they need for their project.

My cars accumulate a lot of road tar behind the wheels, and Turtle Wax Bug & Tar Remover always takes off the tar with very little effort. It works for what it was intended. Those small scratches around your door handle, usually made by fingernails, can easily be emoved. However those scrathes made by a ring may be too deep and will more thn likley not be removable. Good product and I give it four stars. Easy to apply.

While I know that advertisements do exaggerate, I thought this still might do something to better the situation without incurring steep body shop repair costs. How wrong I was! This product is practically useless and, despite following the instructions to the letter, just left my car with a raised clear scar-like line on top of the scratch, which is still visible. To make matters worse, the actual construction of the pen is very poor, and the nib quickly jams (it's based on a pump action method to immerse the nib in the 'healing' liquid). In my case this happened after just one use. Please do read, and believe these reviews and save yourself time and money.

3M Scratch Removal System Review

(More customer reviews)I helped a buddy while he used one of these kits, then I got one for myself. Awesome. Splotch of paint from coming to close to the garage door frame, gone. Key dings around the door locks, polished and vanished. A line where the trunk of the Christmas tree scraped along the door -- Away!
I'd warn you, though, this is like a gateway drug. Two jobs under my belt and I'm imagining things like buying a buffer -- polishing my boat, or the mini van, or anything really.
Frenkly, I've always wanted to do this sort of thing -- but clear instructions are hard to find. Now I get it, now I know what to do.
3M needs to make a larger kit, or sell a multi-pack, or something. I have a '97 Prism that got cleaned with the wrong side of an abrasive sponge -- it's going to take some doing to get all the fine scratches out.

(More customer reviews)I decided to order this product base on the reviews i read also did some extra study on similar products. This is probably my best bet for it's price.
I have rather deep key mark (show primer) and a few fine scratch on my new blue car. As it said on the directions if you have deep scratch you need to get the match paint for it. so we went over to Wal mart and get one of those 5 dollar repair paint that come with a small brush and ball pen in same bottle (they come in several known brand and color such as TOYOTA , FORD, GM, etc;) I also saw the same products at Kregen too.
First i wipe clean the surface with wet cloth and then very lightly wet sand to smooth it up with the sand paper provided it in the kit then wipe clean, The sand paper is 3000 grid which is very fine and did a good job for it's purpose. I like it much better than the 2000 grid one they sell at automotive store. Only if they give you more than just a few strips i will be alot happier.
Then I use the brush side to paint on the bigger scratch area and use the ball pen for finer line. Let dry for few hours. And to make sure i really fill those scratch well I re apply the paint and let dry.
After the paint completely dry use wet sand to very gently sand the excess paint off ( this part scared me the most because they said it very clear not to expose the primer, So take your time and be very gentle). When you are done with sanding the scratch should feel very smooth to the touch. It still look very visible but after i use cream no. 1 (buff hard) it look better so i decided to do it again twice. After 3 applications of cream no.1 and finished it with cream no.2 the scratch almost disappear. I still can see it a little but i know where to look for it. It does not take away the scratch completely but did improve and lighten alot. I think it's reasonable enough for it's price. If they sell this for 100 dollar then i will expect much better result.
As for fine scratch i have to admit that it works like magic. All i need to do is clean the surface, apply cream no.1 and make sure to let it sit then buff buff buff hard! , Cream no.2 give it super glossy shine. The scratch are completely gone. I was very happy with the result.

Nu Finish Scratch Doctor Review

(More customer reviews)This is an excellent product for those who know a thing or two about car scratches and what to expect. If you are hoping to remove a deep key scratch, then this product may not be for you. I have read several reviews that rated this product fairly poor. As somebody who has used Nu Finish Scratch Doctor many times, I believe that people who did not get good results either did not use this product correctly or tried to treat wrong kind of scratches with it. If you want to get ANY scratch removed completely, please see your favorite body shop. They will charge you a lot of money and they will definitely remove the scratches. However, if you want to save money and remove light (with emphasis on "light" scratches yourself), then Nu Finish is worth a try.
After putting my car through several Sierra Nevada and desert trails, I ended up with Arizona pinstripes all over the vehicle. Upon careful inspection, I concluded that the scratches were not deep enough and I used Nu Finish Scratch Doctor to remove 95% of them. It took several hours and of washing and prepping the car followed by several coats of the product. The results were marvelous! However, what worked for me may not work for you and here is why.
Let's take a clean un-waxed standard car. It will have the following layers:
1. Clear coat.
2. Paint.
3. Primer.
4. Body.
The scratch can be present in any of the layers shown above. Nu Finish will work only if the scratch is in the clear coat and if the scratch does not penetrate the clear coat layer too much (up to around 50-70% based on my experience). There are two ways to deal with scratches: Fill them in or smooth out the edges. Nu Finish Scratch Doctor takes the second approach. It is an abrasive-based product that will help you to sand down the scratch. What you have to do is to clean the car and then remove as much residue as possible by drying the car with a microfiber towel and possibly applying a clay bar cleaning system (search for Mother's Clay Bar). After all dirt and particles are gone, you have to apply a coat of Nu Finish and let it sit for some time. Then get a clean polishing cloth and rub it perpendicular to the scratch. You may have to repeat this process several times, but eventually it will either completely eliminate the scratch or make it almost invisible. The trick is to know what to expect. You should allocate enough time to complete the job because you have to be extremely careful about the application. Specifically, you will have to test this product in a safe place first and then after you are done you must apply a layer of wax in order to preserve the paint.
If the scratch is too deep, then your best bet is to see a detailing specialist. Run your nail perpendicular to the scratch. If it catches, Nu Finish will not help. As a matter of fact, no other hand applied product may work for you and what you need is a professional circular polisher and perhaps some wet sanding. If you are reading replies on Amazon, you are probably not a professional detailer and applying sand paper to clear coat may seem barbarian too you. That is why I strongly recommend anybody who have any doubts to do more research online, join an appropriate forum or see a body shop if products like Nu Finish or 3M Glaze do not help. These items are really good as long as you know what you are treating. Too many people buy scratch removers to treat deep scratches that go through clear coat, paint and touch metal. Those are extreme cases and you should not expect a product that costs less than $10 to fix them.

make the windshield worse than it is; the scratches are not too visible and they are not deep). I have not used the product.
I want to return the product. I have sent a first class mail letter to the address listed on

3M 39044 Scratch Remover - 8 oz. Review

The 3M Scratch Remover will remove fine scratches without dulling the paint. I tried it by hand on my Corvette and it worked great. Highly Recommended. For deeper scratches you may have to go over it more than once or use a buffer.

Novus Polish Kit, Plastic Polish & Scratch Remover, 2oz Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased a Novus Plastic Polish kit mainly to use for my many pairs of (non-prescription, non-coated) reading glasses, all with plastic lenses. The first thing I repaired, though, was my watch "crystal" (actually tough plastic), which had a big gouge in it. I started with product no. 1, which cleaned the plastic without affecting the scratch. Then I tried no. 2 but it made almost no difference. So following instructions I went on to no. 3, and after a few minutes of rubbing the scratch was almost invisible. Nobody would know it was there except me, and I'm certain I could remove every last trace if I thought it was worthwhile. I followed the no. 3 treatment with nos. 2 and 1 again, and the crystal was beautiful, like new except for the tiny area I didn't bother to spend more time with. I also tried the polishes on a couple of pairs of non-Rx reading glasses, with good results. It does what I wanted it to do, and is the first really effective, and fairly easy, way I've found to remove scratches and impart a super-slick shiny surface to damaged plastic.
The product labeled no. 1 is a super-good cleaner, and I suspect it is not abrasive at all. Each of the three products requires only a tiny bit to do its work, and there are a few lint-free wipers supplied to apply and buff with.
Highly recommended.
