(More customer reviews)I really wanted these to work. The idea sounded great - wipers that don't wear out and are infused with PTFE so you get the Rain-X effect simply by using the wipers!
Installation was easy, but things started to go downhill after that. Both wipers had issues contacting the entire windshield during the sweep, thus leaving spots that didn't clear the water. I think this is due to the uni-blade design and the stiffness of the blade itself. It got worse - we had a couple of snowstorms - nothing major, but after the first one, the blade warped simply by being in contact with the snow/ice. Then the cheap plastic that holds the one-piece design in place broke off when encountering a little friction. And I never have seen the Rain-X effect despite using these for close to four months.
Honestly, I got much better performance out of the cheap rubber blades and a bottle of Rain-X than I have with these. The marketing pitch sounds nice, but execution leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe there are silcone wiper blades that do work great, but these aren't them.

(More customer reviews)Been using this stuff on my cars since the 80's. Never been disappointed. Works great, rain just doesn't really get any chance to impair vision when you're moving, could go without wipers altogether, but when you slow down and the wind isn't pushing it off the window anymore, wipers still come in handy.
Makes it so much easier to clean the windows as well, bugs, etc, all come off much easier.
My only reason I didn't give these 5 stars is I think I like the liquid application better, seems to go on better. This seemed awfully thin and was not getting much product on, not much "haze" to buff off when using these compared to the regular bottle...

I didn't get the film on my windshield other reviewers complained about, but did notice the rain wasn't well repelled compared to the original treatment. Went back to using the original and I can see clearly in rainy weather again.

(More customer reviews)For some reason, our window wipers never seem to really clear up the windshield when it's raining. Perhaps we're not replacing our window wipers often enough, but still, the clarity in the windshield when using the wipers in a storm was never really good after the new blades were broken in.
I was a little hesitant trying this product on the windshield because I didn't want it to leave smudges or a visible residue.
I'm happy to report that the application went on easy and I buffed it with a paper towel afterwards to remove any streaks.
A couple days later, we had a microburst hit our area as we were driving, and the rain repellent was awesome. It was better than getting new window wiper blades by far.
One of the applicators worked for the front windsheild, so we'll keep the others for later as I believe an application lasts up to 6 months.
The only caution I would offer is to apply it in a well ventilated area. It did have a bit of a synthetic smell going on, but after it was dry, it was fine.
Great product. Very happy with it.

Silblade Uni UB122, Hybrid Silicone Wiper Blade 22" Review

I originally bought the regular silblades, but they were loose, they rattled and shook while cleaning windows. Silblade WB122S Premium Black Silicone Wiper Blade - 22" by Silblade Permalink: http://amzn.com/B00029X5WO The reason they did was there was a gap on either side of the plastic clip in between the metal frame. The plastic clip is the achilles heal in their case.
Back to these wonderful wipers. They are the best without a doubt. The frame is thick, all plastic and extremely solid (No Flex or play at all except where it is meant to at the joints). The wiper blade is a flexible but durable silicone that makes contact the windshield completely and glides with ease. Even with dry windows there is no streaking or lines. When you first use them they leave a film on the window that keeps rain from accumulating and helps them slide across it easier.
I first came across silblade in 2005 when I was at the SEMA show in Vegas and bought my first pair. This is when silblade made Ultra frames in color with colored silicone blade. That was amazing back then and I wish they still made them. The big thing is that I bought a pair of red frames with red blades for my moms 05 Rav 4 which was new at the time, and she just replaced them in the winter of 09. They still worked as good as new but the frames only faded a little. Thats insane. These went through 4 winters and change of season in Jersey and still were going strong with no rips tears or streaking on the windshield.
I trust these on both my parents cars and will ONLY use these on mine. I really hope they never change their formula but I would highly recommend that you buy the SILBLADE HYBRID version if you have a problem with the SILBLADE PREMIUM wipers.

(More customer reviews)I've only used this for a few weeks, so I'm going to give it more time. The cleaning this stuff provides is superb, just as advertised. However, during the cold snap here in DC, I've found that the cleaner freezes at 28-30 degrees.
For winter driving, that's just totally unacceptable. I'm going to check my formulation again in a couple weeks time, but suffice it to say that the freezing has been a real disappointment for an otherwise great product.

(More customer reviews)I have used Rain-X for over ten years now. I am still amazed at what it does for glass. The spray bottles or wipes have worked best for me. Do not apply or buff with a cloth you intend to keep as the chemicals degrade fabrics. Cheap paper towels do just fine. Some people complain about glare after applying it, but a good buffing or the next car wash or rain shower will take care of any places you missed.
Windshield, side glass and even my mirrors are treated three to four times a year. No, it is not intended to replace using wipers, but any consistent cruising speeds over 30 mph and water rolls right off.
Try not to spray on painted surfaces & rubber trim as the directions say. I have experimented with spraying rubber scraps & plastics, it degrades and dries rubber trim fast due to the evaporatives in Rain-X.

(More customer reviews)This stuff is the best example I can think of, of a product that not only works but far exceeded my expectations. As one reviewer mentioned, it will cause wintertime ice to easily flake off. Ditto for summertime bug removal. It repels rain so well that it is a viable alternative to doing an expensive windshield wiper mechanism repair (for those of us that drive old cars). I work as a highway patrolman (er . . patrolperson) for a living, and quickly learned that windshield wipers tend to lift off of the windshield when when having to drive at 80-90+. No problem with Rain-X as this is where it works best -- aided by the wind to blow your windshield clear. MANY TIMES I have driven to a call at high speed, in blinding downpour rain, with my wipers turned off and seeing perfectly (and enjoying my coffee), while other traffic is stopped on the shoulder or crowded in under bridge overpasses (I still can't figure out the purpose of that) due to no visibility. And I find that it lasts for several weeks on a car that is not garaged. My highest recommendation. Three thumbs up! Oops - make that two thumbs up.

The price was very good and it was delivered on time in perfect condition. I believe in this product and trust it. It was the only wax I had on my 2003 Dodge Ram Quad cab when someone poured an oily type of liquid on it. Had it not been for the Fast wax I would have had to have a new paint job. This product saved my paint. The only thing I had to repair was my grill and headlight cover, had I used this on them it may have also saved these items. I will buy this product as long as they produce it. Thanks to Amazon.com for having it available, it saved me a lot of work and money in repairs. Thanks again D.C.

(More customer reviews)I've used rain-x wipes for ages, and I had my windshield replaced. I was quite disappointed to find I ran out of wipes, and I actually had to have my wipers on hi when it was raining. I ran to the store and picked up the 2-in-1 since i knew my windshield was dirty anyway.
Since it had been raining, and it rains a lot where I am, as soon as it stopped, I ran out with a towel, did my best to dry the window, and used this cleaner on a damp/wet windshield and wasn't sure of how it would perform.
My windshield was pretty clean, and the water is being repelled as it was before. I was at a gas station and thought i'd do a little touch-up wash with their squeegee and the water would bead right up and run off, but I was able to scrub the bugs off.
I usually use rain repellent washer fluid to keep treating it instead of washing the rain-x treatment off. Usually i barely have to have my wipers on and I love it.

I ran out of the $1 spritz can of no-fog I bought last year in the check out lane of my local grocery...so I went in search of a replacement. I picked these because I thought it was a name I could trust.
WRONG! I used one and it left streaks all over my windshield and the side windows. I tried another; same result. I worked over the windows until I could see through them...but the fogging was not diminished...it was WORSE.
This is a useless product no matter the price. I am headed back to the check out lane to see if I can find that little blue can--when I do, I'll let you know what it is.
