(More customer reviews)I bought this after getting a stone chip in my wife's Rogue. I was driving so it was my fault (smile). While I have seen windshield repair kits before, I went with this because of the Stoner brand name (I have always had success with their car care products). Even so, I wasn't expecting anything to repair a chip other than replacing the windshield.
I had a small star-type chip about the size of a pencil eraser with a few small spider lines (cracks) coming off it just below the roof line. Because this is always out of stock at Amazon, I waited about 3 weeks before trying it and the crack didn't spread.
I followed the instructions exactly (which was slightly difficult and my only reason for four versus five stars). There was slight confusion when in step 5 you are told to empty the resin and keep the empty container for step 10, and then in step 10 you are told to use a drop of resin (wasn't I told in step 5 to keep the EMPTY container) over the PIT (Stoner's name for the chip). After a total of about an hour (waiting 15 minutes for step 7 & 20 minutes for step 8, and 15 minutes for the UV rays of the sun to cure the resin), I can hardly see the chip, inside or out. The spider lines have disappeared completely and the center is now about the size of a sharp point of the pencil, not its eraser as it was before I began! I am in awe that this worked. My only mistake was not taking a before and after picture, because except for my wife, no one would believe a chip even existed. High praise for this product & highly recommended.

Permatex 16067 Bullseye Windshield Repair Kit Review

(More customer reviews)This kit does not work. The resin does not penetrate into cracks or nicks. The resin will come out of the sides and get all over the windshield. It seeps under the adhesive but doesn't go into the crack. There is insufficient resin- and it all winds up everywhere but inside of repair. I followed the instructions to the letter- this kit does not work. You can't get a seal over the repair with the tools provided and the resin does not penetrate into the damaged area, it all comes out the sides because there is no seal. In order for this to work, you would need to have a good seal over the ding or crack, and the materials in this kit do not provide that. You'd probably need to be able to open the crack as well- nothing in the kit allows you to do that. Don't buy this kit, I tried it twice, I followed the instructions, and have a pretty good understanding as to exactly why this product does not work.

Permatex 09103 Windshield Repair Kit Review

(More customer reviews)Permatex had, in my opinon, a decent product. They changed it and now it's just terrible. Do yourself a favor and go try out a competing product called Fix-a-Windshield. I reviewed that one, as well.
Here's what Permatex changed for the worse:
1) No more suction cup. Used to have a clear suction cup through which you could watch bubbles coming up as you pumped out the air. No longer. Now it's an opaque pedestal which you have to stick to your windshield with a 2-way adhesive patch. Can't see through it, and can't verify that the crack has been filled before removing the pedestal.
2) Not enough resin. Used to be the syringe was filled with resin. Now a little tiny tube of resin is included, and it is not even enough to fill the bottom of the pedestal.
3) No more pumping with the syringe. This was the only effective way to get the air our of the crack to be able to fill with resin. Now there are pre-set positions for the syringe: 1) lower-notch: vacuum out the air. 2) upper notch: push in the resin. This could be regarded as an improvement IF you could see through the pedestal to be able to verify that the repair was complete.
4) Adhesive patch! Ugh, HORRIBLE!!! I was very careful to follow the directions. I COULD NOT REMOVE the pedestal and keep the adhesive patch from tearing apart. So, this left a mess on my windshield, as I tried to get the pieces of adhesive off...all now gooey with resin, running down the windshield.
Why did they mess with this product? I've repaired 3 stars on this windshield with their older product. Now they've lost a customer.
