(More customer reviews)Without question, this is the worst PRODUCT I have ever owned. Not the worst polisher -- the worst PRODUCT. I bought my first (of two) a little over a year ago. Used it once right after I purchased it, and then a second time last month. The polisher started smoking and getting hot while polishing my car (a leased car, which I was waxing prior to turning back in to the bank), and then finally broke 1/2 way through the job. I ran to the auto parts store, and bought a second Black and Decker polisher (since it was the only brand they carried) to finish up the job. The second one started smoking right away (so I assumed it was normal at that point, since I used two), but it finished the job. Flash forward to this weekend, when I decided to wax my wife's Jeep. Polisher started smoking again, and 1/2 way thru the job, something inside broke and sent small plastic pieces dropping out from the inside. Two dead identical Black and Decker polishers, bought over one year apart.
Poor workmanship (undoubtedly made in China... if this was made in the USA, I'd have a few more words to say on the subject, but you'd expect it from China). But, what can you expect for a $35 DA polisher?
Spend a little more money, and get something that will last for more than a couple of uses.
Oh, and the irony of it all... even with two broken polishers totalling $70, it's still cheaper than a detail for one car...
