They work well with liquid traditional waxes, as well as the new "clear" types like Turtle Wax Ice (the product for which I specifically purchased these). I really like the size of them - they are about 1" thick and 4" in diameter. They are very easy to hold - not as flimsy as many other foam applicators. They also clean up well for reuse, providing you do so right away.
